This blog was made for my Sociology 131 class. The class is located at the EKU Manchester campus. I created this research blog for a grade, but in doing this I also hope to raise awareness about Chiari, if only to a few people.

I have a great story for you that I couldn't keep to myself til Tuesday.
So my best friend was in a car wreck when we were 16 and has had awful neck pain since then. If shes had one test ran shes had 100 and they just kept giving her mild pain medication with physical therapy which makes it worse. Come to find out Wednesday, she has a cyst at the top of her spinal cord that was caused by a genetic disease called Chiari Malformation that she's been living with for 23 years unknowingly. We go on December 6th to find out her surgery date so that she can join the zipper heads. She took comfort in me being able to give her a little info that you'd passed to me and was equally impressed that I knew what the hell she was talking about. Anyway, I can't find the link on our BlackBoard for the girls blog that you showed us, will you send me the link to that? Thanks!!
